Hello, I’m Maley, the owner of Hair By Maley, a private hairstylist studio in Downtown Brooklyn, NY.

I am originally from Costa Rica and have been passionate about hair since my early 20s. With over 15 years of professional experience as an international hairstylist, I have worked across Europe, Central America, and South America, gaining experience with all hair types, textures, and cultures. This background allows me to bring a global approach to hair styling and hair color.

For the past 10 years, I have been based in Brooklyn, where I have built my career as a hairstylist in Downtown Brooklyn serving clients from Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, Fort Greene, and surrounding neighborhoods. I specialize as a master colorist and hair stylist, focusing on balayage, blonde transformations, red tones, dimensional color, color correction, and modern haircuts. I also provide professional makeup services.

As a Brooklyn hair color specialist, I focus on creating personalized looks that enhance natural beauty while maintaining healthy hair. My goal is to deliver high-quality, customized results whether you are looking for a subtle refresh or a complete transformation.

I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian, which allows me to connect with a diverse clientele throughout Brooklyn. Outside of the salon, I enjoy spending time with my son, walking around Brooklyn (especially Bed-Stuy), watching films, and enjoying time with friends and family.
